To all my Jonny Pals,

2016 was the worst year of my life. And the best. As almost all of you know, I suffered a heart attack at the beginning of the year that nearly did me in and required a long road to recovery. I don't know if I could have done it without the support of all of you. They say that in such times, you really find out who your friends are. I did, and I was more moved by the discovery than I can put into words.

What follows is the 27th annual Jonny Christmas story. The saga of the noble muse Jonny M. and his devoted pug Winston has gone through many twists and turns, and those of you who were with me at its toilet humor origins are probably shaking your heads that it's become as thoughtful as it has. This year's story was inspired by Hillary Clinton's presidential run and my own growing awareness of the kind of nonsense my female friends have to put up with on a daily basis. I wish that I could say that I am evolved enough never to contribute to it. I'm sad to admit that I haven't reached that point yet but, like Jonny in the story, I am working on it.

However you observe the season, I'm only glad that I'm still around to share it with you. I learned the hard way that isn't something to be taken for granted. But I always like to to say that "life is hope." And I hope each and every one of you has the best Yuletide ever, and that every day is filled with love. I'm just glad I'm here to keep adding to it.

Happy Holidays.
